"Our family took surf lessons from Coconut Harry's on our very first day in Costa Rica and we had a blast. We had two instructors, one for our two boys and one for my husband and myself so it was like a private lesson. We were amazed at how quickly the kids were up and surfing, within a couple of tries. The instructors were patient but firm about what we needed to do. By the end of the lesson we were all feeling pretty confident and decided to rent boards for the week so that we could practice.

My only regret was that we didn't sign up for an additional lesson later in the week to build on the skills that were originally taught. Dealing with all the Coconut Harry employees was a pleasant experience, even when my son broke a surfboard fin!. "I spent two days in Hawaii a few years ago learning how to surf- and in the two days I rode ONE wave. The beach in Hawaii was very narrow and rocky on the bottom. I did not receive instruction on anything but the "pop up". With you guys on Playa Guiones - the beach was perfect-soft and sandy- wide open. We rode tons of waves the first day. And your staff, especially Esteban, was extremely helpful in answering our questions, flagging down a bus or two and then calling the hotel in San Jose to solve the whole mystery."
